Babu Owino Faces Serious Allegations from Bernard Omondi

A man identifying himself as Bernard Omondi (Ben Sirikal) has made serious allegations against Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, claiming the legislator once threatened two women with a panga after they allegedly turned down his sexual advances following a night out.

According to Omondi, the incident began after they picked up the women from a nightclub before driving away together. He alleges that during the journey, Babu Owino expressed his desire to have sexual relations with the women, but they declined. Omondi further claims that Owino then stopped the vehicle near Karura Forest, ordered the women to get out of the car, and allegedly threatened them with a panga.

Babu Owino is a prominent Kenyan politician known for his controversial career as the MP for Embakasi East. He has been involved in multiple legal controversies, including a high-profile case in January 2020 where he was charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting DJ Evolve at B-Club in Nairobi. Recently, in August 2023, he was acquitted of charges related to the misuse of a firearm in that case, with the court citing insufficient evidence, according to Nairobi Wire.

The allegations made by Omondi come at a time when Owino's public image is already marred by previous incidents. In January 2026, he accused Kileleshwa Ward MCA Robert Alai of physically assaulting him during an altercation at a Kilimani restaurant. Additionally, he has publicly claimed intimidation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) following attempts to summon him over political activities. Such controversies have led to ongoing discussions about his conduct as a public figure and the implications for his political career.
