Gladys Addresses Unauthorized Money Requests on Social Media

Kenyans were recently alerted by public figure Gladys over unauthorized requests for 100 KES purportedly linked to BNN PREMIUM services. In a Telegram post, she firmly stated, 'Do NOT send me money I didn’t ask for and then try to paint me as a con.'

Gladys clarified that she never solicited these funds and has taken steps to reverse any unauthorized transactions. She emphasized that the money was allegedly being used to record phone calls with Safaricom customer care, which raised concerns about the legitimacy of the requests.

Gladys is known for her active presence in the Kenyan entertainment scene, often engaging with her followers on various platforms. She has built a reputation for transparency and accountability, making her recent claims particularly significant in the context of ongoing discussions about online scams and fraud in Kenya.

The broader situation involves heightened vigilance among Kenyans regarding financial transactions, especially with the rise of digital scams. Safaricom, Kenya's leading telecommunications provider, has been proactive in advising customers to verify any calls claiming to be from their customer care, underscoring the importance of safeguarding personal information and finances. According to Android Kenya, customers are encouraged to use the official customer care number, 0722 000 000, for verification.
