Marianne Kitany and Mithika Linturi's Legal Battle Concludes

Aldai MP Marianne Kitany and former Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi's tumultuous relationship has officially ended following a lengthy court battle that revealed serious allegations, including forgery and disputed financial dealings.

The court ruled that Kitany and Linturi were never legally married under Kenyan law, bringing closure to a case that included claims of a Sh530 million debt, contested land transactions, and allegations of using family property as loan collateral without consent. The proceedings also highlighted a disturbing incident involving a Gigiri police cell, where Kitany alleged threats to her safety.

Marianne Kitany is known for her political role as the MP for Aldai, where she has been active in various community issues. Mithika Linturi, on the other hand, has served as the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and is a prominent figure in Kenyan politics, having been involved in various controversies throughout his career.

The legal disputes between Kitany and Linturi have drawn significant public attention, particularly due to the serious nature of the allegations. In July 2026, the Nairobi Milimani Commercial Court ordered Kitany's eviction from Linturi's Runda residence, further complicating their already fraught relationship. Additionally, Linturi recently filed a defamation lawsuit against Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma M’Ethingia, seeking Sh50 million in damages over alleged false statements made during a public rally, indicating ongoing tensions within the political landscape.

Notably, Kitany had previously accused Linturi of forging her signature to secure a massive loan, which she claimed was done without her consent. During the court proceedings, she testified that she had spent over Sh70 million on Linturi, including funding vacations and building homes for his family, asserting her financial independence prior to their relationship.
