Martha Karua Detained In Uganda

Martha Karua, a veteran lawyer and politician, has returned to Kenya after being detained and denied entry at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda.

The incident occurred while Karua was travelling to support the legal team of Ugandan opposition leader Kizza Besigye, sparking reactions online with many social media users questioning the authorities' decision to block her entry.

Martha Karua is a well-known figure in Kenyan politics, having served as a Member of Parliament and as a Minister in the Grand Coalition Government, and more recently, as the running mate to Raila Odinga in the 2022 presidential election.
