Martha Shiro Accused of Swindling 79M from Ex-Navy Husband

Joel Fitzpatrick, a dual American-Irish citizen and former Navy officer, is embroiled in a legal battle with his ex-wife, Martha Wanjiru Muhoro, known as Martha Shiro, over allegations of swindling KSh 79 million from him.

The couple's whirlwind romance led to a marriage in July 2025, which lasted only four months before Martha filed for divorce. During their brief union, Joel transferred approximately KSh 80 million for their new life in Kenya, but Martha allegedly used the money to purchase a mansion and two vehicles registered solely in her name according to reports.

Martha Shiro, a former teacher and church elder, is publicly known for her role in the community as an elder and preacher at a local PCEA Church congregation in Malindi as noted by sources. Her private life, however, has come under scrutiny following these allegations.

The legal dispute has taken a dramatic turn with claims of a failed assassination attempt on Joel at a cafe in Watamu Mall. The couple's divorce has been finalized, but the financial battle over the assets continues, with Joel seeking justice and recovery of the funds.
