Modesto Accuses Oga Obinna Amid Stoopid Boy's Death
Following the reported death of Kenyan Arbantone musician Stoopid Boy, fellow artist Modesto has publicly accused comedian Oga Obinna of being a 'soul reaper.' Modesto links Obinna to the untimely deaths of Stoopid Boy and another artist, Shalkido, claiming that both passed away shortly after receiving assistance from Obinna.
Stoopid Boy, known for his hit song 'G Baga Jat,' reportedly died on August 27, 2026. Oga Obinna, a prominent comedian and content creator, confirmed the news and expressed his deep sadness over the loss, highlighting the struggles Stoopid Boy faced with substance abuse prior to his death. Obinna had previously assisted the musician in seeking rehabilitation in early 2025, which underscores the tragic circumstances surrounding Stoopid Boy's passing, especially after he had mourned the death of his brother, Ian, just months earlier in May 2026.
Oga Obinna has gained popularity for his comedic talent and engaging content on social media. He is known for his philanthropic efforts, including helping fellow artists like Stoopid Boy. Modesto, meanwhile, has been vocal about the challenges facing musicians in Kenya, particularly regarding mental health and substance abuse.
In the wake of Stoopid Boy's death, fellow musicians Masauti and Gody Tennor have released a tribute song in his honor, reflecting the impact he had on the Kenyan music scene. Additionally, artist Parrotty has criticized the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) for its alleged failure to adequately support artists financially, suggesting that such frustrations contribute to substance abuse issues within the music community.
