Passenger Dies After Attempting to Open Door on Kenya Airways Flight

A male passenger aboard a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to Lagos reportedly died after attempting to open the aircraft's cabin door mid-flight. Fellow passengers intervened, restraining the man as tensions escalated inside the aircraft.

Witnesses claim the passenger exhibited aggressive behavior, with some suggesting he was claustrophobic and needed air. Allegations have surfaced that flight attendants could have provided him with oxygen, which might have prevented his death. Approximately 20 minutes before landing, the passenger was found unresponsive and was later confirmed dead upon arrival at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, according to Tuko.

Kenya Airways has not disclosed the identity or nationality of the deceased passenger, nor the cause of death. The airline is currently facing scrutiny as the incident raises concerns about passenger safety and emergency protocols during flights.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is investigating the incident, with Nigerian police taking over the investigation into the passenger's death. This incident comes at a time when air travel safety is under increased scrutiny globally, especially following several high-profile aviation incidents.
