Pastor Kanyari Discusses Ex-Wife Betty Bayo During Service

Pastor Victor Kanyari has once again opened up about his ex-wife, gospel singer Betty Bayo, during a recent church service, making fresh claims regarding their past relationship and their children.

Kanyari stated that even after Betty remarried, she would still reach out to him to check on him and occasionally borrow money, highlighting their continued closeness. He further alleged that her late husband, Hiram Gitau, known as Tash, attempted to gain full custody of their two children, but the courts consistently ruled that the children should remain under Kanyari's custody.

Victor Kanyari is a well-known pastor and media personality in Kenya, recognized for his controversial sermons and public persona. Betty Bayo, who was a prominent gospel singer, passed away on November 10, 2025, after battling leukemia, leaving behind a legacy in the Kenyan gospel music scene.

The custody battle over their children, Sky and Danny, has been a significant point of contention since Bayo's passing. Kanyari expressed his desire to gain custody of the children, stating, 'I am a good father. I may not be a good husband, but I am a good father,' according to Kenyan Post. In June 2026, he initiated formal court proceedings against Tash, seeking custody, and has alleged governmental interference in enforcing court orders since then.
