Willis Raburu Wins Court Ruling Against EABL
The court has ordered East African Breweries Limited (EABL) to deposit KSh 10 million into a joint account as part of the ongoing legal dispute involving media personality Willis Raburu.
Willis Raburu welcomed the ruling, describing it as a significant milestone in his pursuit of justice. He noted that the court dismissed an objection aimed at halting the proceedings based on the principle of sub judice. Despite the case still being unresolved, Raburu expressed confidence in Kenya’s judiciary and thanked his legal team for their dedication, emphasizing his hope that this ruling will inspire creatives and entrepreneurs to seek justice when their rights are infringed upon.
Willis Raburu is a well-known media personality and digital strategist in Kenya, recognized for his work in television and online platforms. He gained prominence as a news anchor and has since transitioned into various roles, including digital content creation. His legal action against EABL stems from a claim for KSh 10 million owed to him through his company, Steizon Limited, which he filed in December 2025.
The case has drawn attention not only because of the parties involved but also due to the implications it holds for creatives and entrepreneurs in Kenya. EABL is a major player in the beverage industry and has been known for its significant contributions to the economy. The ruling could set a precedent for how disputes between individuals and large corporations are handled in the Kenyan legal system, especially in the creative sector.
