Jaguar Supports Marya During Recovery From Stroke

Former Starehe MP and musician Charles Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar, has reached out to fellow musician Marya as she continues her recovery following a stroke.

Jaguar visited Marya and donated KSh 100,000 to support her during this challenging period. He also pledged to cover her rent for three months and provide monthly shopping as part of his commitment to helping her through recovery.

Charles Njagua, known as Jaguar, is a prominent figure in Kenyan music and politics, having served as the Member of Parliament for Starehe from 2017 to 2022. His musical career includes hits that have resonated with many Kenyans, making him a beloved personality.

Marya, a veteran Kenyan singer famous for her hit song 'Chokoza,' suffered a stroke in May 2025, caused by a blood clot that limited oxygen flow to her brain. Following her stroke, she underwent intensive physiotherapy and was discharged to continue her recovery at home. In June 2025, she shared the emotional toll the stroke had taken on her family, particularly her children, and appealed for financial assistance to cover medical expenses, highlighting the challenges faced by artists in times of personal crisis.
