Natalie Githinji Appeals to Ruto for Endometriosis Support
Media personality Natalie Githinji has made a heartfelt public appeal to President William Ruto, urging for greater government support for women living with endometriosis. In her message, Natalie revealed that she has battled the condition for 17 years, describing it as a painful disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the womb.
She noted that endometriosis has no known cure and can cause debilitating symptoms such as severe menstrual pain, heavy bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, and fertility challenges. Natalie emphasized the need for early diagnosis, treatment, and awareness, arguing that many women suffer for years before receiving a proper diagnosis. 'We need the government to prioritize this issue,' she stated.
Natalie Githinji is well-known as a media personality and has garnered attention for her candid discussions about health issues. Her public profile has been bolstered by her advocacy for women's health, particularly concerning endometriosis, a condition that affects many women in Kenya and around the world.
The broader conversation around women's health has gained traction in Kenya, with various public figures, including First Lady Rachel Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, being called upon to support initiatives addressing reproductive health. Githinji's appeal aligns with ongoing discussions about the need for accessible healthcare services for women, as many face financial burdens while managing chronic conditions like endometriosis. According to K24, she has also requested the involvement of influential figures in these discussions to ensure that the challenges faced by women are adequately addressed.
