Sifuna's Linda Mwananchi Movement Launches Nairobi Mobilisation Tour
The Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi Movement has commenced a high-profile mobilisation tour across Nairobi as part of its strategy to engage grassroots supporters ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The tour aims to connect with residents on pressing issues affecting their daily lives, reinforcing the movement's commitment to governance reforms and accountability. Edwin Sifuna, the Nairobi Senator and ODM Secretary General, leads this initiative, which is expected to cover various parts of the capital.
Edwin Sifuna is known for his active role in the ODM party, where he has been a vocal advocate for citizen engagement and political accountability. Recently, he has been focused on expanding the reach of the Linda Mwananchi Movement, which has already seen significant growth, with over 25,000 Kenyans registering as members by March 2026, according to Tuko.
The political landscape in Kenya is heating up as various leaders and movements prepare for the upcoming elections. Sifuna's movement has previously organized nationwide rallies, including in Kitengela and Mombasa, to rally support and discuss governance issues. In June 2026, former Law Society of Kenya president Faith Odhiambo joined the movement, enhancing its national profile. Furthermore, plans to transform Linda Mwananchi into a full political party with Sifuna as its presidential candidate were announced in July 2026, indicating a serious commitment to contesting in the upcoming elections.
