Vybz Kartel Plans First Concert in Kenya Amid Fan Excitement

Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel has announced that discussions are in progress with Kenyan event promoters to bring him to Kenya for his first-ever concert on the African continent.

Kartel, who has expressed his deep connection to Kenyan fans, stated that the love he receives from them is undeniable. He has previously referred to himself as 'actually Kenyan' during performances, highlighting Kenya as one of his top five streaming markets globally. This announcement has left Kenyan dancehall fans eagerly anticipating his arrival.

Vybz Kartel, known for hits like 'Fever,' has been a prominent figure in the dancehall genre, gaining international acclaim for his music and unique style. His influence extends beyond Jamaica, with a significant following in Kenya, where he has often acknowledged the support of his fans.

Recently, despite earlier denials of an East African tour, organizers of the Talanta East Afrika Festival confirmed Kartel as the headliner for concerts in Kampala, Kigali, and Nairobi, scheduled for May 2026. Kenyan artist Charisma is set to perform as a supporting act at the Nairobi concert, further building anticipation for the event. Following Kartel's initial denial, Charisma addressed the situation, clarifying that the responsibility for confirming Kartel's participation lies with the event organizers, not the performers.
