Kega has alleged that the attackers were police officers, stating that they vandalized his vehicle using the butts of their rifles, smashing the side mirrors and lights. He was forced to seek refuge in a nearby house after the attack. A live bullet believed to have been used during the incident was recovered and handed over to the officer in charge at the Kasuku Police Station, indicating the seriousness of the situation, according to The Standard.
